Witness to HIM

06:29 pm - Billy Graham Evangelism Association

Today at church, I learned that Billy Graham Evangelism Association will be coming to my area in May. I'm really excited! I can learn how to successfully share my faith, and also bring unsaved family to the events. God is so awesome!!! I've been struggling with how to properly witness, and this will be a great educational tool for me. Also, it will be wonderful being with hundreds and hundreds of Brothers and Sisters worshipping and learning about the Lord.

01:08 pm - Thank You, Lord

Thank You, Lord for being who You are. Thank You for still loving me. You are so awesome. Truly nothing compares to You. My life belongs to You. My every breath belongs to You. Make me fall more in love with You. Fill me with Your Spirit. Give me wisdom and discernment. I pray to represent You in thought, action and words. I am sorry for when I used a twisted tongue to others. Be my life. May You be glorified always for only You are worthy.

I pray that more and more will come to know You as Savior. I pray that their eyes will be opened to see that they need a Savior. I pray that they will know how much You love them, and that there is no true peace in our lives without You.

02:50 pm - Heavy Heart

I have had a heavy heart as of late. I wonder what I am doing for my Lord. Am I doing enough? Am I doing anything? How am I representing Him? I am suppose to be an ambassador of Christ, but I'm not doing enough. He deserves my all.

I've been reading the book of Acts, and I wish to be bold like the apostles. Everyday I pray for God's power to come upon me that I may have boldness to proclaim the Good News. To speak the truth in all that I say and do. That my family and my friends would come to know the truth.

I look around at the world, and I feel so much sadness. There are so many people living their lives and not knowing they are on the path of destruction. So many people need to know about Jesus. They need to know how much He loves them. They need to know how deep His love for them flows.

Our Lord is returning. Maybe sooner than we think. There is so much work to be done. So much soul winning that needs to be done. I pray more people will come to know the Father.

02:16 pm - No God Like Our God

There is no God like our God. Our God is so Holy. So Awesome and Amazing. He is full of Majesty and is worthy of our praise and adoration. My heart is full of so much love for our God. Yet my love for Him, could never compare to the love He has for me and for us all.

This world desperately needs Jesus. We are not guaranteed tomorrow. You need to be sure, NOW, where you will end up when you leave this earth. There are only two choices. Eternity in heaven with our Father, or eternity in Hell. Hell isn't just separation from God for eternity. Hell is eternity in fire and torment. There are no words that can describe the horror that awaits people in Hell. You don't want to go there. Open your hearts to receive the Savior. Be cleansed of your sins and awaken to new life.

"When I think about the Lord, how He saved me, how He raised me, how He filled me with the Holy Ghost, how He healed me to the utter most. When I think about the Lord, how He picked me up and turned me around, how He placed my feet on solid ground. It makes me want to shout, Hallelujah, thank you Jesus. Lord, You're worthy of all the glory, and all the honor, and all the praise."

03:31 pm - Are You A Good Person?

Are you a good person? Are you good enough to get into heaven? Many people would consider themselves good, and good enough to get into heaven. I used to think that I was. Then I took a little test, and realized that I wasn't good enough to get into heaven. So, how about you take the Good Person test?

Have you ever lied? Even just a little white lie?
Have you ever stolen anything? Even something small?
Have you ever used the Lord's name as a curse word? Used His name in a way other than in worship and reverance? If you have, then that is blasphemy.
Have you ever committed adultery? Jesus said that if you look at anyone with lust, then you have already committed adultery in your heart.

Now these are only 4 of the 10 commandments. If you have answered yes to any of these, then you are a liar, a thief, a blasphemer, or an adulterer. If you stand before God on Judgement Day, would He find you innocent or guilty? He would find you guilty. I had to realize that He would find me guilty when I took this test. When you are guilty you go to hell.

Many people would think that God is too loving to send anyone to hell. First of all, He doesn't send anyone to hell. We send ourselves.
Also, think about our justice system. If you have broken 2 laws of the land, and you stand before a judge, you would expect to be found guilty. The judge wouldn't be a good judge or just if he just let lawbreakers go free. Why should we expect God to be less just or less good than a human judge?

So if God is righteous and Just, then He has to punish lawbreakers. That is what we are. We have broken His laws. The good news is that He doesn't want us to go to Hell. So, do you know what He did? Lets go back to the example of our court. Let's say that you were found guilty of breaking a law, and the judge sentenced you to life in prison and a $20,000 fine. Now, I know that I couldn't pay that fine, and wouldn't want to spend life in jail. So, then you hear in the back of the courtroom a man say, "Your honor, I will pay his fine. I will serve his time in jail." Wow, that is pretty amazing! That is what Jesus did. He was perfect. He was sinless, and He took our sins upon Himself. He paid the price for our sins. Now, just like in the court case, you have to decide if you will accept His offer to take your place, or if you will pay the price yourself. Remember, the price that we will pay is eternity in hell.

We have to remember that no one is good enough to get to heaven. No one is righteous enough. Our goodness is like filthy rags to God. We are only made righteous through Christ Jesus. We have to let Him cleanse us of our sins, and He makes us righteous. Old ways become dead, and we become new creations.

When we stand before God, He will only see us through Jesus. He won't see our sins, but only the precious blood of the Lamb that covers us. The curse is lifted when we lay our sins at the foot of the cross. Isn't our God amazing?

08:28 pm - Sweetly Broken

I was recently listening to this song "Sweetly Broken,"and it makes me think about the amazing gift we have been given. The gift of eternal life. How our Savior suffered a horrible death so we won't be separated from Him for eternity. We didn't do anything to deserve this gift, but He offers it to us freely. All we have to do is just take it. The love that our God has for us is so amazing. There is nothing like it.

03:38 pm - New To This

Ok. I don't really know what I am doing with this journal, or if I am doing this right.

My favorite character on tv was and still is Jack Bristow from Alias. He is my favorite tv character of all time, and probably always will be. I hated how his character ended up, because I thought he deserved a better ending. He deserved to be alive at the end with his daughter and grandchildren. If he had to die, at least they could have given him a proper memorial. Anywhoo...

One of the things that drew me to his character was the love he had for his daughter. He loved her so much and would do anything for her. I was also drawn to his sadness. He had such a sad life, and he seemed so alone. He only had his daughter, and their relationship wasn't always the best. His daughter could be pretty cruel and say some harsh things to him. When I watched Alias, I would always think about what would happen if Jack became saved. My faith is very important to me, so it even shows up when I'm dealing with fictional characters, haha. I would always think about how Jack truly needed the love of Jesus. If only he could hear about this amazing love. God loved him enough to send His only begotten Son to die for him. Jesus loved him enough to suffer the cross, so he could be forgiven for his sins and not suffer the consequences. Of course, Jack's life still wouldn't be easy. Look at how much the disciples suffered for Christ. Still, Jack would have something in his life that he seemed to lack. He would have a love that would never leave him. He would have a peace in his heart that surpasses all understanding. He would have a relationship with his Father. He would have eternal life, and would be snatched from the gates of Hell. Jack would become a soldier for the King. His life on this earth would change forever, and it would impact the other people around him. His daughter. Vaughn. Marshall. Anyone. They would see the change in him. They would see the joy in his eyes, and that would lead to them hearing the Gospel. Imagine Jack Bristow praising the Lord. That would be a sight that I would have loved to have seen on Alias.

When I would think about this, it would remind me of Chris Rice's song "Cartoons." He wrote this song about cartoon characters being saved, and the song mentions how certain cartoon characters would praise the Lord and how they would sing hallelujah. Like the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles would praise God with "Cowabunga-loo-yah, Dude!" The song ends saying that cartoons can't be saved and aren't made for praising, and that it is our job. So in the end, Jack Bristow is a fictional character that can't be saved. However, there are real people out there who need the Savior, and it is the job of every Christian to introduce them to the One who gave His life for them.
